Sierra Nevada Swimming
will be well represented by both coaches and athletes on the 2010
USA National Youth Team! In addition to Arden Hill’s
Nick Johnson and CCA’s Evan Virtue, coaches Jeff Pearson and
Brian Nabeta have been chosen to represent the USA on the 2010 USA
National Youth Team.
Evan qualified in two events, the 200
Meter Butterfly and the 1500 Meter Freestyle. To
qualify, Evan placed 2nd in 200 Fly at Junior Nationals and
4th among 18 & under swimmers in the 1500 Free at the US
Open. Nick, a senior at Jesuit High School made the team on
his performance at last summers USA Junior National Swim meet. Nick
will be attending USC in the fall.
Coach Brian Nabeta and Coach Jeff Pearson
will serve as coaches when the team competes in Barcelona,
Spain. Coach Pearson was named the Head Coach for the Women's
Team and Coach Nabeta was named an Assistant Coach for the
Men’s Team. The team will travel the week of June 7th
and compete in a trials and finals format June 9th - 10th,
2010.
