SECTION 8
SIERRA NEVADA SENIOR SWIMMING TRAVEL FUND
A. PURPOSE
To reimburse travel costs of SNS athlete members competing in Senior and Junior National Championships and Olympic Trials when these meets are sanctioned outside of SNS.
B. CONTROL OF FUNDS
- Swimming Travel Fund receipts shall be deposited into the custody of the Treasurer, and such funds and their issue shall be used for the exclusive purpose stated in this Section 8.
- A committee of the Treasurer, Senior Vice-Chairman, a LSC chairman appointee and a Coach representative shall be established to recommend airfares on which travel expense reimbursement will be based, to review swimmer eligibility, and to recommend amount of reimbursement for each swimmer applying for funds, for the approval of the Board of Directors.
C. FUNDING
- The method shall be determined by the Board of Directors.
- Surcharge - At all meets charging an entry fee, clubs shall collect one surcharge for each individual event entry and for each swimmer in a relay entry. Clubs shall send these collected surcharges to the Treasurer within 10 days of the meet together with a report on the form specified.
- Failure to Transmit Surcharges - Clubs which fail to report and transmit collected surcharges by October 1, from meets held during the prior period from September 1 to August 31, shall be denied sanctions for future meets and their members shall not receive travel funds until such report and collections are received.
D. SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY
- Registration
a. The. swimmer shall compete either attached to or unattached with a SNS team.
b. The swimmer shall hold continuous SNS registration for the following periods of time in order to receive the stated reimbursement percentage:
(1) During the first national meet period after a swimmer registers in SNS, the swimmer will not be eligible for the travel fund.
(2) During the second national meet period after a swimmer registers in SNS, the swimmer will be eligible for one-third of the agreed upon reimbursement allowance for the determined airfare amount.
(3) During the third national meet period after a swimmer registers in SNS, the swimmer will be eligible for two-thirds of the reimbursement allowance.
(4) Once a swimmer has been continuously registered in SNS for three national meet periods, the swimmer is eligible for 100 percent reimbursement as long as continuous SNS registration is maintained.
(5) The Travel Fund Committee shall consider any application for reimbursement from a swimmer who has previously met the above eligibility requirements.

Regulations
a. Relay only swimmers will not be reimbursed.
b. Swimmer application for reimbursement must be received no later than Nov. 30, and reimbursement will be paid following receipt of meet results.
c. No swimmer shall receive in excess of 100 percent of the determined air fare.
E. FUND DISBURSEMENT
- All swimmers competing in a Senior National Championship meet will receive a maximum reimbursement of 100 percent of the determined airfare based on their registration qualification.
- All swimmers competing in a Junior National Championship meet will receive a maximum reimbursement of 50 percent of the determined airfare based on their registration qualification.
